“The meetings in the prefecture and the nice words confirm what I have been saying for months: accidents at work remain an unstoppable phenomenon without controls. I must deduce, at this point, that safety is just an armchair topic for the prefect”.
Thus Gigi Vicinanza, member of the national secretariat of Cisal Metalmeccanici, denounces in a press note yet another accident at work in Salerno, where a worker from the Salerno Sistemi company was burned during the excavation to repair a water leak.
“In the prefecture they are waiting for yet another death in 2021 to call another useless meeting. I am tired of this inaction on the part of those who should monitor safety regulations in the workplace and, instead, think about doing something else.
Salerno and its province demonstrate, once again, that they are not at the forefront when it comes to safety in the workplace. From the port to the individual company it is all a continuous risk for the workers. There is no longer any need for useless round tables. The prefect leaves the sumptuous Government Palace in Piazza Amendola and sees reality firsthand.”
