The Mobility Councilor of the Municipality of Salerno, Engineer Rocco Galdi, announced today the start of works in Piazza Cavour consisting of the restoration of two crucial arteries for traffic and road safety. The works are already underway and the objective is to complete the restoration of the road sections connecting the two arteries in the shortest possible time, estimating a period of approximately ten working days. The Councilor specified that, as regards the legal aspects, he is not aware of any judicial issues related to the works. However, after consulting the Municipality’s lawyer, it was authorized to proceed at least with the necessary road repairs.
A particular problem that motivated the start of the works emerged during the Luci D’Artista event, when traffic flow problems were encountered. In the event of medical emergencies, the need to take a longer route to reach hospitals has caused delays in rescue times. With the restoration of the road arteries, a direct connection between the affected areas will be guaranteed, allowing faster and safer emergency interventions.
However, Councilor Galdi clarified that the complete restoration of the area will still require time and that the continuation of the works will be carefully monitored to guarantee maximum safety and functionality of the city roads.
