Frost. A rebirth of the former railway yard and the entire area. The project is financed with “Qualità Abire” funds and involves approximately five million euros, in integrated procurement and therefore with the executive planning. The award dates back to the end of 2023, like all the other projects in the financing program. This morning, the mayor Lucio Greco, the councilor for public works Romina Morselli, the manager Antonino Collura together with the architect Vincenzo Castellana and the rup Orazio Marino, arrived at the site. With them, also the ownership of the company that obtained the contract, Bdf appalti srl of Agrigento. “By mid-May – explained the mayor – the company’s vehicles will carry out a general cleaning. The executive planning will be completed within sixty days. It will be a redevelopment and protection project. Cultural spaces will be ensured and in the area above a linear garden over an entire roadway. Above all, we want to restore splendor to an archaeological area of absolute value.” Collura, who coordinates “Quality of living” and the sector aimed at managing Pnrr funds, underlined how the project puts an end to a void that had been created over time in an area left abandoned despite an assignment dating back to years ago but which did not ensure relaunch and valorisation. Even today, the archaeological area is in conditions of total neglect. It should be a connection point with the area that goes in the direction of the historic center but also with a crossing towards Via Venezia.
