Distance from sensitive places (schools, youth centres, social and healthcare residential facilities) and closure during particular time slots, restrictions on advertising and the display of machines with cash prizes. These are some of the provisions contained in the municipal council regulation, pre-adopted to prevent the so-called ‘problematic gambling’.
Cash winnings The measures launched by the Terni administration, in line with the national reference regulations, do not apply, as specified, to ‘Bingo’, as ‘sharing – we read – the gaming experience with table mates offers a socializing value not present in individually managed games’; the billiard halls and bowling halls, dedicated exclusively to these games, ‘due to their nature as a sporting activity recognized by CONI’; but not even the Lotto and Football Pools games, ‘as they are traditionally characterized by times and rituals unrelated to the risk of compulsiveness of the game’.
Fair game The regulation also includes the characteristics of the designated physical places and the activities that can take place there; and so on up to municipal subsidies for the therapeutic needs of support and treatment of gambling addicts. The complete regulation
