VARESE – The Municipality of Varese informs that starting Registration for municipal extra-curricular services will open from Tuesday 30 April 2024 for the 2024/25 school year. Applications must be made exclusively online by accessing the dedicated portal with Spid or Cie (at this link). Registrations will close on May 30, 2024.
The services offered
«There are many services offered by the Municipality of Varese – explains the councilor for educational services Rossella Dimaggio – from the morning until 6.30 pm, the administration guarantees a range of possibilities for a better balance of family time.” We start in the morning with the before school service, i.e. the moment of welcoming children during which recreational activities, reading moments or small workshops are organised, waiting for the educational activities to begin. The reception of children is possible during the entire time slot 7.30-8, from Monday to Friday. In the afternoon instead there is the afterschool, an educational service provided from Monday to Friday at the end of the canteen from 2.15pm to 5.30pm (with the possibility of intermediate visits). Also in the afternoon there are “after school” services in full-time classes. In this case, families who have chosen one of the full-time schools for their child, i.e. 40 hours of school time per week (with indicative leave at 4pm every day), have the possibility of requesting enrollment at the after-school service from 4pm to 5.30pm. The after school instead it is an additional service, active from Monday to Friday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, reserved for children enrolled in after-school care and with parents who both work in the afternoon.
Experimentation underway
Added to these services is the novelty for the next school yearstart-up on an experimental basisthe implementation of before-school hours (from 7 am) and after-school hours (until 6 pm) in primary schools St. John Bosco And Medea. The service is designed for parents who are both interested workers (such as cross-border workers, families of doctors, healthcare personnel, law enforcement personnel) and will be provided even if the minimum number of registrations is not reached. The idea for the next few years is to extend this service to other schools as well. As for the cafeteria instead there are three types of school meals. The curricular school lunch (form to be completed compulsorily for everyone) is the possibility of eating in the canteen with the teachers in the morning only on the days in which, for the class attended, the curricular afternoon return is scheduled. The after-school lunch is the opportunity to eat in the canteen with the municipal educators for children enrolled in the after-school program. Finally, the daily lunch, the possibility of eating in the canteen with the educators, even occasionally, without being enrolled in the after-school program. The service takes place between 1pm and 2.15pm, with the only possible exit time being 2.15pm. Information on registration is on the website of the Municipality of Varese.
