For the class of 2001, also a center like his older brother (born 1997), a two-year contract with Edinburgh; while Sione is and will be part of the Glasgow Warriors.

“I’m really excited – said Mosese Tuipulotu, who among other things also has Italian origins in his maternal side of the family – to move to Edinburgh. I can’t wait to come to Scotland and experience something different to what I grew up with.”

“I talked a lot with my brother and with some guys who already had experiences in the Northern Hemisphere. Obviously I also observed some URC matches: it’s a competition I can’t wait to compete with and be part of.”

“I am very excited to start a new chapter in my career in Edinburgh. My strengths lie in playing in contact with my opponents and in my offensive ability to involve my teammates: I want to show all this.”

Then on playing against his brother he admits: “I’ve never played against Sione, but in a derby I think this could be really fun and if it happens it will also be special.”

Sean Everitt, Edinburgh coach, said: “We are happy to have signed Mosese Tuipulotu. He is a dynamic and versatile player: the club had wanted to complete this purchase for some time and they did it. He will add quality to our battery of centers and he will also be able to lend a hand to the Scottish national team by being eligible for them. We can’t wait to have him working with us.”
