“The campaign against waste abandonment is a civility campaign”

An iron fist against the “smart” waste collectors in Forlì. Mayor Gian Luca Zattini announces the launch of what he defines as a “campaign of civility and environmental protection”. As anticipated in recent days by Alea, mobile cameras are also arriving in Forlì which will monitor the correct disposal of waste in the city bins. In particular, as the mayor explains, throughout the municipal territory four multivideo stations will rotate every two months, for a total of 24 high resolution devices. “More controls and more sanctions, the campaign against improper waste disposal will start at the end of the month”, warns Zattini. “To fight and fine uncivilized people who leave waste on the streets, in parks and in places open to the public, we have deployed four high-resolution camera traps, each equipped with four cameras with automatic focus, water resistant and capable to extrapolate clear images even at night.” It is, he points out, a cutting-edge system, characterized by one of the most modern technologies in circulation, “effective and sustainable in terms of commitment of the Local Police – he continues – capable of producing a video package from multiple filming points of the crime to be punished”. The measure is necessary because “the indiscriminate abandonment of waste creates situations of urban decay, public hygiene problems and additional costs to those due to separate waste collection”, underlines the mayor. Finally, he recalls how the campaign conducted by the administration can also count on the support of Alea inspectors, volunteers, WWF, neighborhood committees, ecological guards and local police.
