Descriptive text here

The State Police has implemented a precautionary custody order under house arrest, issued by the GIP at the Court of Foggia, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, against four subjects subjected to preliminary investigations in relation to the crime of receiving stolen goods . The investigation, started in 2022, arose from a territorial control service, during which the police noticed a van, whose driver made a hasty escape upon seeing the officers. Subsequently, the subject was stopped and arrested. Following this episode, the staff of the Cerignola PS Police Station, collaborated by the staff of the Flying Squad and the Foggia Traffic Police Section, identified a fictitious commercial activity, within which the recipients of the precautionary measure would have transferred parts of cars of furtive origin. Following a search of the premises, numerous bodywork and mechanical parts of illicit origin were found, made anonymous by removing the distinctive manufacturing signs. Furthermore, the company would have put the stolen components back on the “online” used spare parts market.

The headquarters of the business and its contents were subjected to criminal seizure. During the investigations, two further garages were identified, inside which other parts of stolen vehicles were found, subsequently returned to their legitimate owners. The proceeding is pending in the preliminary investigation phase; it should be noted that the position of the people involved in the aforementioned police operations is being examined by the Judicial Authority and that they cannot be considered guilty until a final conviction has been pronounced.
