Activists: «No to red zones, yes to widespread information on the climate crisis and to the involvement of citizens in the decisions to be made»
They arrived on a tricycle dressed as clowns under the RAI headquarters in Turin in via Verdi. Seven activists of Extinction Rebellion they wanted to report like this the «circus» of the G7 Environment to be held from 28 to 30 April to Royal Venaria. Two other activists climbed onto the roof of the building where they displayed a banner with the writing «G7 Environment: -2 days until the circus begins».
Seven tricycles and as many flags, representing the governments of the 7 countries that will participate in the climate, energy and environment summit. “For more than thirty years, G7 governments have made solemn commitments at international summits to combat climate collapse, despite continuing to invest in fossil fuels and fueling this crisis,” he explained Elisa. “It’s like being in front of a circus: their commitments, year after year, are a sad clown show.”
Rai’s choice is also not random. The XR movement intends to «denounce at the same time the absence of serious information by the body on the ecoclimatic crisis and the political pressure that the government is exerting on public information in recent months”.
