A veritable arsenal made up of six guns of various calibers were discovered in the municipality of Piana di Monte Verna in the province of Caserta.

The weapons were inside a plastic container hidden on uncultivated agricultural land, located close to the SP65 in Piana di Monte Verna and owned by the State Property Office. They were found this morning by the police at the Ruviano station.

The person who noticed the container, with weapons and ammunition inside, was a 42-year-old local man who immediately alerted the Carabinieri at the Ruviano station who, who intervened immediately, proceeded with the seizure, from unknown persons, of:

– a “kimar” brand 8 gauge pistol (replica) mod. “derringer” with modified barrel;

– a blank pistol cal. 380 brand “bruni” mod. “new 380” with modified barrel;

– a “bruni” brand blank pistol mod. “olympic” with modified barrel;

– a “bruni” brand blank pistol mod. “new police” 9 cal pak completely disassembled;

– a homemade 1-shot pistol, probably 22 cal;

– a homemade 1-shot pistol, probably 36 cal;

– two handcrafted primed and reloaded 36 cal cartridges;

– four handcrafted reloaded Flobert 8 cal cartridges.

The Carabinieri are now investigating to trace who hid the weapons, on which ballistic and fingerprint tests will also be carried out to establish whether they were used in recent bloody events.
