BOLOGNA – It would seem that witch hunts are a phenomenon relegated to the past, a dark chapter in human history. Yet, as the exhibition reminds us Witchcraft. Iconography, facts and scandals of history’s subversives in progress a Pallavicini Palace in Bologna, this terrible reality still persists today, albeit in different ways.
A new witch hunt
Instead of fires and inquisitorial trials, today’s women find themselves facing verbal and physical attacks, both in the real and virtual world. Insults, threats, harassment: these are just some of the forms that the new witch hunt, fueled by, takes on prejudice, misogyny and fear of what is different.
Appointment with Emilio Gerboni, psychologist and psychotherapist
Saturday 27 April, at 4 pm, Emilio Gerboni, psychologist and psychotherapist, will hold a meeting entitled “If only they didn’t burn you at the stake: how to protect yourself in the new era of witch hunts (and fulfill yourself peacefully)”. During the event, Gerboni will illustrate the subtle and disguised dynamics of this new witch hunt, offering concrete tools to defend oneself and free oneself from fear. The objective is to create a context in which women can finally feel serene and supported in the expression of their talents and in the realization of their projects.
Witches: a laboratory for the little ones
Sunday 28 April, again at 4 pm, children aged 6 to 11 will be able to participate in “How is a witch born?”, an exciting guided tour of the exhibition with a final interactive workshop. A way to learn about the figure of the witch through history, dispel myths and free your imagination.
