Sunday’s match will be the last match in the championship but also the fifth match between Fermana and Pescara which will be played at the Bruno Recchioni stadium in Fermo.
The first of these precedents dates back to 24 years ago, in Serie B, when Giovanni Galeone’s Pescara won 0-3: after 7 minutes of play the biancazzurri took the lead on Giampaolo’s shot deflected by Pagani to the far post, displacing the former Cecere goalkeeper. In the second half the Croatian Vukoja doubled their lead and in the 85th minute “King” Federico Giampaolo closed the match again.
On 6 January 2002, Fermana’s first and only historic victory over Ivo Iaconi’s Pescara: after 19 minutes of play, Manca broke the deadlock for the Marche team. In the second half Arctic equalized for the guests but in the 71st minute Di Salvatore was the man to win: it ended 2-1 for Fermana.
On 13 October 2002, Pescara returned to success by beating Puccica’s Fermana 2-3: after 35 minutes of play Mastronunzio gave the hosts the lead with a shot from the edge of the area to the far post, three minutes passed and Cecchini draws a powerful shot. In the second half Cecchini again with a shot to the bottom corner of the near post and then Giampaolo for Pescara’s third goal. Mastronunzio scored the final 2-3 goal.
The last precedent, dated 20 February 2022, in Serie C, the first and only draw between Fermana and Pescara: the home team broke the deadlock after 16 minutes of play following a free kick. Cognini beat Sorrentino. In the second half Pescara equalized on the penalty kick scored by Eugenio D’Ursi. In the 95th minute, Ferrari scored the goal to give the visitors the advantage, which was canceled out by match director Maggio from the Lodi section, who canceled the goal against the Argentine attacker for an alleged touch with his arm. Shortly afterwards Ferrari was expelled for protesting. It ends 1-1.
