Two nurses of the emergency room of theDi Venere hospital in Bari They were attackedyesterday afternoon, reporting wounds healable in 15 and 10 days.
As far as we know, the two healthcare workers were targeted a woman waiting for son’s resignation. The times were prolonged due to the arrival of some at the first aid point red codes which kept the emergency room staff busy. The woman did not want to wait any longer and attacked the health workers.
The police was immediately alerted State Police who intervened on the scene with a police car and is now trying to reconstruct what happened.
The two healthcare workers who were victims of the attack receive «total closeness and solidarity» of theASL Bari which “strongly condemns yet another act perpetrated against staff in the exercise of their duties and to the detriment of the community, as it causes the interruption of a public service”.
The ASL Bari, as in previous episodes, «is alongside the operators by making its legal office available to them” they inform from the Bari healthcare company that “stigmatizes a certain “malpractice” according to which waiting in the emergency room, often at the origin of unpleasant episodes, would be a simple waste of time instead of the necessary clinical fulfillment connected to the general priority of the cases”.
Furthermore, the ASL reminds us that the legislative decree which provides that this can be done came into force on 4 April proceed ex officio in case of injury to healthcare professionals.
