PALERMO (ITALPRESS) – The officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency of the Piacenza Office together with the soldiers of the Piacenza Financial Police have started an info-investigative activity, carried out by cross-referencing the information present in the respective databases, aimed at verifying the correct existence of the requirements required to obtain the tax relief for commercial diesel. This concession allows companies that carry out goods transport activities and have the exclusive use of vehicles exceeding 7.5 tonnes to obtain tax credits to cover the excise duties paid relating to diesel fuel consumed, through the presentation of a specific request to the competent ADM Office. The activity in question was directed towards two companies, attributable to the same entities, which, in the first three quarters of 2023, had offset the documented credits.
During the operations, the officials and the military found, in relation to one of the two companies, the absence of any corporate structure and the failure to install it, unlike what was attested in the request presented to the Customs and Monopolies Agency, of a storage tank. Furthermore, in the registered office of the company itself there was, in reality, a tax consultancy firm. In relation to the second company, the Agency officials, together with the soldiers of the Corps, following a careful documentary and factual verification, found that it did not have exclusive possession of the vehicles indicated in the reimbursement request. Furthermore, the latter turned out to be, in reality, registered to the first company. The joint efforts made by the members of the two entities, conducted in compliance with their mutual responsibilities, have made it possible to report the legal representatives of the two companies to the competent Judicial Authority for the crimes of undue perception of public funding and ideological falsehood committed by the private individual in public act. The irregularities found, also thanks to the fruitful collaboration between the Customs and Monopolies Agency and the Financial Police in compliance with the memorandum of understanding signed between the institutions in April 2023, represent concrete evidence of the effective joint action of prevention and combating violations in the sectors of excise duties and other indirect taxes on production and consumption, to protect state budget resources. – Photo: Adm press office – (ITALPRESS). pc/com 26-Apr-24 10:49 .
