Everything is ready for the most southern road Granfondo in Italy, promoted by the Asd Team Nuova Avir and supported by the Municipality of Ragusa. The City of Ragusa will be called upon to award the regional category titles. The main route is 119.5 km with a difference in altitude of 1,793 metres: a challenging route, with many bumps especially in the second part, reaching the 933 meters of the summit of Monte Lauro before returning to Ragusa. The average route is 95 km for 1,313 metres.
Departure and arrival in Piazza Libertà, here a large exhibition village is set up which hosts many side events over 3 days. The opening of the village is scheduled for today at 3pm. The stands will open at 5.30pm with the start of sporting and commercial activities within the village area. At 7.30 pm there will be the music fest, a musical show with performances by live groups: The seadix, Elisa Occhipinti, The evergreen band, Little house blues band, area 22 – Acoustic trio, Duettilascio, Orazio Rani. Artistic director Angelo Carnemolla, presents Maurizio Mezzasalma. Tomorrow, from 10am, the secretariat will open, with distribution of bibs and race packs at the Cesare Battisti gym in Piazza Libertà. There will still be the possibility to register for the Granfondo and the Mediofondo. Village opening at 10.30am. There will be a cycling gymkhana reserved for children aged 6 to 13 who are members of the FCI and open to non-members. Completely closed route in Piazza Libertà, you can participate with any bike, with Salvatore D’Aquila, president of the Fci Ragusa provincial committee, taking care of everything. From 3pm group cycling promo event with three sessions, one every hour. At 5pm an institutional moment dedicated to supporters and sponsors in the Cartia room of the Chamber of Commerce. At 7.30pm the second day of the Music Fest with Limping five, Blood type, Psa can you still hear me, The biscuits out machine, Naife, Black circles, Omega. Sunday from 6.15am, office opening. Grills open at 7.30am. At 8 am the greeting from the authorities and at 8.30 am the departure which, at 8.15 am, will be preceded by that reserved for the Junior and Under 23 categories. The organizational staff will make 160 volunteers available along the route. The village opens at 10.30am. Also on Sunday, from 12pm there will be a pasta party with the entire proceeds going to support Ail projects. Live with commentary on the big screens for the entire duration. Arrivals are scheduled for 1.20pm. The awards ceremony will take place at 3pm and the village will close at 6pm.
