The exhibition “Between the face and the soul – That surprising space of being” opens on Tuesday 7 May 2024 at 5pm in the Varesevive headquarters, in via San Francesco 26 in Varese, an opportunity to meet with the Somsart Psychiatric Rehabilitation Day Center of Comerio.

“Between face and soul” on display in the Varese room, a Somsart project lives on 4 of 14
On display there will be the works of the project of the same name, carried out in the Somsart art atelier, and a projection of the video, produced by Matteo Carnio, of the workshop activities of 2023, with musical accompaniment by Antonio Belfiore. The exhibition, which has the patronage of the GLP – Provincial Working Group, will also be open to visitors on 8 – 9 – 10 May from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 4pm
In addition to the participants of the Atelier Somsart, 15 local artists will also be part of the exhibition: Tiziana Adreani, Antonio Bandirali, Vanni Bellea, Fausto Bianchi, Enrico Brunella, Giampiero Castiglioni, Flora Fumei, Ruggero Marrani, Enrico Milesi, Silvio Monti, Ferruccio Pavesi, Giorgio Presta, Marita Viola, Annamaria Vitale, Angelica Vittone.
«Why a project on the face? – Explains the artistic director Sergio Disiero – Because the face that loves you is what you see first, and absence is a condemnation, this is the real defeat. Human beings need a face that says “I am there for you”. It is in the relationship with the other that the self gives the best of itself, no one is saved alone.”
Some schools like the Galileo Ferraris scientific high school of Varese, the “Stein” Institute of Gavirate, la “Villa Valerio” Middle School of Casciago, la Primary School of Comerio “Giovanni Pascoli”shared artistic workshop moments with Somsart users through theatre, painting and music, as therapy.
Some institutes have booked the guided tour and workshops of the exhibition “Between the face and the soul”: all the students visiting the exhibition, in addition to the explanation of the contents and works on display, will have the opportunity to have an experience laboratory practice linked to the theme. During the exhibition of the works, a video will be shown, edited by Guido Ranzaon the experience carried out in school settings.
