Students from Rocca Bovio Palumbo on a trip to Benevento: discovering the Roman and Janare ruins

On April 23rd, classes 1C, 1G and 1L, accompanied by the teachers: Annese, Bevilacqua S., Cuocci, Massafra and Pastanella, carried out the educational trip to Benevento, a city rich in history and magic. The educational trip is an opportunity for experiential teaching, based on action and concrete experimentation of concepts but also an opportunity for socialization and fun.

The children were enraptured by the city by visiting the historic centre, the Church of Santa Sofia, a UNESCO heritage site, the Arch of Trajan, the baths and the wonderful Roman theatre. They were also able to admire an Egyptian obelisk and the main façade of the cathedral, which remained intact, together with its main door, following the bombings that occurred during the Second World War.

In the second part of the day, they then visited the Museum of Witches, also known as the “janare” and were able to discover, through an educational workshop entitled “In the beginning was the myth”, myths and legends linked to these characters.

A beautiful opportunity for our children, supported by the Headmaster Prof. Cassanelli, who helps students to learn about the beauties of our country.
