In the ranking of the most prosperous municipalities in Italy, the Pontine province is placed just above the national average, attested to 21,752 euros per capita. However, only four cities exceed this threshold. The leadership, confirmed again this year, goes to Latina, with a per capita income of 22,401 euros, recording an increase of 4.65% compared to the previous year (21,405 euros). Gaeta follows closely with a per capita income of 22,167 euros and growth of 4.37%. Last year, these two centers were the only ones to exceed 21,000 euros in per capita income. Three other municipalities exceed 20,000 euros, one more than in 2023: Sabaudia (20,128 euros), followed by Sermoneta (20,828 euros) and Formia (21,376 euros). The other Pontine centers are placed below the national average. Four of them have a per capita income of less than 16,000 euros: Sonnino, Campodimele, Prossedi and Monte San Biagio. Followed by Ponza, just above this threshold, and Fondi, with a per capita income of just 16,404 euros, recording an increase of 5.35% compared to the previous year. Fondi, known for its fruit and vegetable market, has much lower prices than Ponza. Even Ventotene, the famous Pontine island, has a significantly higher per capita income (19,165 euros). Ventotene recorded record growth compared to the previous year, with an increase of 9.35%, the highest in the province, exceeding inflation. Only three other Pontine municipalities recorded growth above 7%: Monte San Biagio, Roccagorga and San Felice Circeo. The other major centers performed fairly well. Aprilia has a per capita income of 19,380 euros, while Terracina and Cisterna have lower figures (18,198 euros and 17,919 euros respectively). Sezze is even further behind with 16,635 euros. Among the tourist locations, Sabaudia stands out with the highest per capita income (20,128 euros), followed by Sperlonga (19,282 euros), Ventotene, Minturno (18,663 euros) and San Felice Circeo (18,440 euros). These data refer to the total income declared by natural persons (before deductions and deductions) and derive mainly from salaries and pensions.
