ANCONA – In the early afternoon of Wednesday, a man was stopped by the police in Piazza Cavour while urinating in public. Without identification documents, he was found in possession of a wad of 20 euro banknotes, all with the same serial number. The man, identified as a 35-year-old Sudanese citizen, resident in Liguria, was accompanied to the Police Headquarters offices for the necessary investigations.

During the inspection of the banknotes, it emerged that they were fake, without a watermark and with anomalous color characteristics. Further investigations led to the discovery of other banknotes (41) in the man’s trouser pockets. The Sudanese was reported to the Judicial Authority for spending counterfeit money and for violations of the rules on residence in the national territory. Furthermore, he was sanctioned for acts contrary to public decency. Given the social danger of the subject, the Police Commissioner of Ancona issued a Mandatory Leave Sheet, with which he was ordered to leave the municipal territory of Ancona for three years.
