City councilor Andrea Cardello collects citizens’ reports and asks for urgent recovery action. “Probably damaged cameras, destroyed button panel and walls full of writings are a terrible business card in a busy area that connects Piazza Abramo Lincoln with Corso Italia. If we add to this the impossibility, especially for the disabled, to use the lift, the picture of degradation becomes complete.”
To reverse this trend, councilor Cardello proposes to entrust the task of giving new life to these structures by involving traders or street artists to create murals or sponsorships aimed at safeguarding the decoration of the columns as can already be seen in the nearby Viale Ionio. “It being understood – concludes Cardello – that these structures must be made functional again and put at the service of Catania’s integrated mobility system”.
