Denis Barbieri, Raffaele Bonaventura, Anna Boniello, Angelo Salvatore Bonsanto, Vincenzo Pio Capobianco, Luciano Clema, Raffaele Colanero, Federico Colapietra, Antonio De Marco, Simona Dell’Oglio, Ernesto Moreno Di Matteo, Angelo Falcone, Michelangelo Saverio Falcone, Leonardo Mainiero, Alessandro Marasco, Giovanni Marasco, Rita Anna Moretti, Cesare Pallotta, Stefania Pennoni, Lisa Pepi, Paolo Pepi, Giovanni Putignano, Alessandro Rossoni, Luciano Russo, Simone Toro are, with different roles and charges, the characters involved. Two months ago the DIA of Foggia seized assets worth two and a half million euros from Rocco Moretti. Yet he has spent a total of twenty months outside prison from 1989 to today.

The summit

He is the recognized leader of the Moretti-Pellegrino-Lanza battery, the one to which some of the suspects with the most complex position would refer. A clan which, according to Apulian investigators, has never lost its business vocation over time. Precisely in reference to some contested extortion attempts, the deputy public prosecutors Roberta D’Avolio and Luca Sciarretta highlight how the «extortion dynamic was implemented through the use of mafia intimidation force, deriving from the associative bond headed by the mafia organization called Società Foggiana”.

The method

The members of a family from Pescara, well-known entrepreneurs in the restaurant sector, also ended up in the network of two of the members of the group, Angelo Falcone and Angelo Salvatore Bonsanto: they started with a loan of one hundred thousand euros which increased over time through the delivery of «sums of money, checks and bills of unspecified amounts – we read in the request for indictment – and finally the delivery of an apartment in via Regina Elena in Pescara worth approximately three hundred thousand euros, with the application of a usurious rate equal to over 453.46% on an annual basis.” An adventure not unlike the one encountered by a car dealer to whom some of the suspects, including Angelo Falcone and Rita Anna Moretti, allegedly lent money independently, handing over sums of money and granting extensions on the payment of some cars supplied for a total amount of approximately three hundred thousand euros. «Demanding from him – we read in the request for trial – the payment of usurious interest, amounting in some cases to 200% on a monthly basis and ultimately the restitution of sums of money amounting in total to approximately one million euros, part of which paid in cash, cheques, bills of exchange, bank transfers and car deliveries”.
