The Democratic Party at the Regional Assembly presented to the President of the Region a request for administrative inspection in the sectors of urban planning, social services and urban police in the Municipality of Agrigento. And this in light of the recent judicial events which resulted in the arrest of the manager Gaetano Di Giovanni for corruption within the health and social district, and the ongoing investigations against two consultants with tasks related to the city’s regular general plan. The deputies Catanzaro, Burtone, Chinnici, Cracolici, Dipasquale, Giambona, Leanza, Safina, Saverino, Spada and Venezia state: “The suspects are accused in various capacities of very serious crimes such as association aimed at corruption, corruption, disrupting the freedom of auctions, incitement to corruption. The investigations, therefore, open up unpredictable scenarios which, considering the role and activities carried out by the suspects, cast a long shadow on entire sectors of the administrative activity of the Municipality of Agrigento. Therefore, we are asked to evaluate the opportunity of preparing an administrative inspection on the sectors of urban planning, social services and urban police where the three suspects Gaetano Di Giovanni (currently under arrest in prison), the engineer Paolo di Loreto (under arrest house arrest) and the engineer Maurizio Erbicella have provided their services in recent years to verify the lawfulness of the actions implemented and the procedures observed”.
