The selection plant for the separate collection of solid urban waste will be revamped or will be the subject of works aimed at modernization and renovation to allow better performance and operation with higher quality standards.
The tender procedure will be announced soon although the council has already decided in favour, implementing the technical and economic feasibility project prepared by one of the most important technical studies of the capital: approximately 6 million euros the total expenditure which will be paid mainly through a loan to be contracted while 1 million Euros will be allocated directly from the Municipality of Molfetta’s own funds.
The plant is available to ASM which, on 31 March last year, signed an agreement with CO.NIP (National Plastic Packaging Consortium), COREPLA (National Consortium for the collection, recycling and recovery of plastic packaging plastic), CORIPET (Non-profit Consortium for the management of packaging): object is the selection of plastic packaging waste with the object of receiving, storing and selecting the material.
“In order – we read in the Council resolution – the ASM-owned CSS can continue to carry out its function and guarantee the provision to the Consortia, it is necessary to proceed with an adaptation of the multiple automatic selection line for plastic packaging”.
