The round table for the international “Heard” project in Molfetta

The InCo Molfetta APS Association together with the “Pandora” Anti-Violence Center held a new open public meeting as part of the “HEARD” project – The impact of the COVID 19 crisis on different democratic perspectives through a gender approach”.

Starting from 6.00 pm on 23 April 2024 at the CAV Pandora headquarters (Piazza Rosa Luxemburg, in Molfetta) a Round Table was held with the presence of political representatives of the city of Molfetta and the citizens. During the event, the results obtained from the research, questionnaires and debates organized within the HEARD project on Democracy, Human Rights, Work and women’s lives were presented. These results, the result of the collection of opinions from citizens of 9 European countries, including Slovenia, Portugal, France, Greece, Bulgaria, Sweden, Cyprus, Spain and of course Italy, then led to the creation of suggestions and recommendations which were presented during the event to political representatives. The objective is to encourage the development of future policies that can thus meet the needs of citizens in the event of a possible future crisis.

During the round table, speakers included, among others, Luigi Balacco and Elena Torelli representing InCo-Molfetta, the lawyer. Francesca Bisceglia of CAV “Pandora”, the ass. to Social Services and Equal Opportunities, Lawyer Anna Capurso and the Ass. to the Urban Planning Lawyer Sergio De Candia.

The purpose of the meeting was to allow face-to-face brainstorming between citizens and political representatives with a constructive discussion. The HEARD project was in fact born as a reflection on the consequences that the pandemic has had on our lives, on the global economy, on employment and on the quality of life in the form of restrictions on social rights. During the round table, the next events of the project were presented, namely the participation of InCo Molfetta and the CAV “Pandora” in Greece in an international workshop in which all the results achieved will be presented together with the publication of a scientific monograph, which collects the data, policy recommendations, citizens’ and experts’ opinions.

The event was promoted by the InCo Molfetta APS Association and is financed through the CERV (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values) program of the European Union.
