The Puglia Region, with LR 30/2021, intended to promote and enhance commercial, artisanal and catering activities and the administration of food and drinks which constitute historical and cultural testimony of the Apulian territory, providing a system for the recognition of the same through collaboration with municipalities, chambers of commerce and the most representative trade associations.

In this context, there is the most fervent satisfaction of Confesercenti of the province of Brindisi which, thanks to its Technical Assistance Center (CAT), supported the Region in the process of promoting the aforementioned Regional Law, for the inclusion of many commercial activities in the provincial territory in the List of “Historical Activities and tradition of Puglia”, as per the management provision of the Puglia Region n.138 of 12 April 2024.

This List, established with Regional Council Resolution no. 2002 dated 11/30/2021, includes, based on certain criteria and methods necessary to obtain regional recognition, commercial activities characterized by a combination of factors linked to the continuity over time of the activity, the brand and the types of products offered, the location in valuable architectural, artistic and decorative structures, as well as

in urban contexts of particular interest, the maintenance of historical equipment, the social, economic and cultural expressiveness of the offer and the setting in strict coherence with the local context. Specifically, in reference to the recognition of “Historical Activities” obtained by the many commercial activities in the Brindisi area, the active collaboration with the Municipalities is highlighted, who have greatly perceived the importance of the initiative and of the “Historical Activities” brand for the contribution to the cultural, economic and tourist development of its social context. In this context, our association is very busy in this phase of promoting the “Historical Activities” brand towards users, towards traders and operators in general, to make it increasingly recognizable by customers. This is an important opportunity for various commercial activities because this brand identifies those they have been able to convey to subsequent generations theirs invaluable wealth of skills and knowledge, as well as values foundations of the commitment to doing business.

Meanwhile, Confesercenti continues its promotional and preliminary activities to obtain this regional recognition from other commercial or artisanal activities. In fact, the information desk for the correct preparation of all the necessary documentation is active at its headquarters in via Rubini n.12.
