GIULIANOVA. Twenty-five beds for patients with senile dementia, of which 15 are currently occupied, 37 operators including nurses, socio-health workers and other professionals, and several rooms for the basic healthcare district. These are the services that have already been active for a few days in the Rsa at the Bellocchio crossroads, where yesterday morning there was a press conference with the presence of the regional health councilor Nicoletta Verìthe general director of the ASL Maurizio Di Giosia with the administrative one Franco Santarelli and healthcare Maurizio Brucchi and the mayor of Giulianova Jwan Costantini.
«The other 10 remaining places will soon be occupied by patients with senile dementia», said Di Giosia, «I specify that the hospitalization and structure costs, for a total of 1 million 800 thousand euros per year, are borne by the Asl. There are also various offices and services of the basic health district here, first in the former marine hospice, and soon we will also put a booking center in this structure.” After her presence in June 2023, when the adaptation works and the destination of the Rsa were announced, councilor Verì returned. «This structure is important for the entire Teramo area», said the regional councilor, «we as a Region have committed ourselves to making this RSA operational in a short time, investing 2 million euros to adapt the premises». Costantini thanked Verì and Di Giosia, expressing his satisfaction with the launch of the RSA and the return of patients with senile dementia from facilities far from the municipality of Giulianova. «I remember that this structure was closed for 17 years», underlined the mayor, «and was only opened during the Covid period. I would like to highlight that in less than a year from the start of the works this structure is operational. I also remember that we will reinvest all the proceeds from the sale of the former marine hospice to strengthen the Giulianova hospital.” The clinical responsibility for patients lies with the local health authority, through the collaboration of the mental health department and doctors Vincenzo Ferrari And Carmine Tomasettiand the responsibility for management lies with the Uoc (complex operational unit), Adriatic district area, directed by Giandomenico Pinto, present at the press conference. The Rsa di bivio Bellocchio is made up of two distinct buildings called collective and residential respectively. In the collective building there are all the technical rooms serving the structure in the basement, on the ground and first floors on the west and south sides the rooms serving the RSA, while on the east side the offices and clinics of the socio-health district and the health protection service in the workplaces of the prevention department was located on the first floor. In the residential building, the rooms that house the new socio-healthcare district have been created with a waiting room, public toilets and a clinic.
