Sassari “Spaces for dreams” is the title of the 2024 edition of Open Monuments, the eighteenth for Sassari, which is part of the 78 municipalities in Italy. The event, coordinated by the Imago Mundi association, is organized with the support of the municipal administration and thanks to the availability of volunteers. Among the new features, for the first time on the circuit the Palazzo SegniThe Porta Nuova palace and the church of San Gavino martyr in Bancali, recently renovated and commissioned by Father Manzella in the 1930s. The itinerary is also new Liberty villas in the Cappuccini district.
There are forty sites and four itineraries proposed, with free guided tours – including volunteers, students of the city schools – in program on Saturday 4th from 5pm to 9pm and Sunday 5th May from 10am to 9pm.

In addition to the four itineraries, which group the sites on the basis of the urban evolution of the city, the thematic itineraries “Thàmus, museum and cultural Sassari”, “The rural paths” – route that will allow you to discover the ancient paths that connected the localities of Logulentu, Badde Tolta, Eba Giara, Filigheddu, Moon and Sun – And “The nature trails” discovering the Lake Baratz.
Among the new features, it was said, there is the itinerary of the Liberty villas in the Cappuccini district, organized by the Pertini – Biasi Comprehensive Institute. During the walk you will be able to admire the exteriors of some of the most beautiful villas and tell the story of the families who lived there. The panoramic tour will be proposed again this year “Discovering Sassari with Oreste”, in collaboration with the Sassari Public Transport Company.
