CEVA – Many Piedmontese, who left this morning for Liguria, to spend the April 25 long weekend at the seaside, found a lot of traffic as expected. Long queues formed at Ceva, about 5 km away at 11am, which also affected the exit at Ceva to take the SS28 and Colle di Nava to arrive on the western coast.
“Unfortunately, what we feared came true: traffic for the April 25th bridge went haywire, with long queues and traffic jams in Cebano and along the Tanaro Valley. The exodus towards the sea during these festive days has also been slowed down due to the landslide that occurred a few weeks ago in Rocchini. For days we have been urging Anas to speed up the works along state road 28, but unfortunately it is a delicate intervention that needs its time and the rains of the last few days have certainly not facilitated the implementation and the safety of the area . Furthermore, this administration carefully follows the procedure within the competence of the motorway company – which appears to be blocked in Rome – for the replacement of the intersection at the exit of the A6 toll booth with a roundabout and whose project has already been agreed with the Municipality of Ceva” .
Those who continued on the Turin-Savona instead encountered slowdowns and other queues, in particular between Millesimo and Altare, where the works to restore the viaduct which collapsed on 24 November 2019 due to a landslide were extended until 2024 and which other viaducts of the Autostrada dei Fiori are also affected.
Cars almost stopped about twenty kilometers from Savona, we proceeded at walking pace for at least 2 km and traffic also slowed down between Savona and Spotorno once we turned towards Ventimiglia. Overall on a journey that normally takes two hours, an extra hour was spent in the car queuing.
