“I thank the president of the Senate culture commission, senator Roberto Martifor receiving me in Rome and listening to me on a broad spectrum of issues concerning the cultural themes in Tuscany reported to me by the administrators of the League who govern many cities and municipalities in our region as well as by cultural institutions with which the culture department of the Tuscan League has been interacting for some time on the entire regional perimeter”. As Massimiliano Baldini, culture manager of the Tuscan League.

“Among the issues that I submitted to Senator Roberto Marti there is also the situation that the Politeama Theatre, closed since November 2018 and on which, thanks to the League, a restriction of cultural interest is registered pursuant to articles 10 et seq. of the cultural heritage code. I mentioned this to our president of the culture commission in the Senate – he continues the representative of Matteo Salvini’s party – how the inclusion of our theater among those that could be subject to legal recognition as a national monument is an opportunity that is added to the qualification already adopted following the constraint of cultural interest but which it is necessary to find important economic funds to allow a restructuring which municipal administrations alone struggle to find in full”.

“It was decided to promote an in-depth study – also together with our parliamentarians and government representatives – which can develop every possible study and synergy useful for finding opportunities that exploit any legally sustainable cultural tool and/or fund to find resources to make available. As far as I’m concerned – concludes Massimiliano Baldini – on the agenda of the work of the culture department of the Tuscan League there will certainly also be the Politeama Theater which has always been paid attention to and on which we are working to prepare an investigation on which we can work side by side elbow both in Florence and in Rome but I am very disappointed by a certain climate of disinterest that also manifests itself through the administration’s refusal to grant a city council meeting open to the public which would have allowed an open discussion with cultural associations and citizens interested in the topic”.
