The camp, located on municipal land, it has been known for years to be a hotspot for illegal activity, ranging from usury to money laundering and theft. In 2021, the camp was also the site of a monstrous crime: a 19-year-old young man was arrested for robbing and raping an elderly woman of 90 years in an act of revenge.

During the visit to the Roma camp in Asti by the correspondent of the Rete4 program, “Fuori dal Coro”, “London the Gypsy” shared fragments of her daily life marked by a brazen and aggressive attitude. Strong makeup, challenging looks and lyrics from popular (and violent) rap songs used as mocked Italian society, are the elements that characterize his appearances on TikTok. These moments, in her opinion, represent a way of “having fun”, although the surrounding environment tells a very different story.

Tensions rose when a group of people from the camp surrounded the television crewthreateningly demanding their departure and declaring the place as “private property“. After explicit threats, the television crew was forced to abandon the Roma camp, a forced retreat which further confirms the lawlessness that reigns supreme in the Roma camp in Asti, a place where the laws of the state are ignored and openly violated.
