“The new headquarters of Fit-Cisl Toscana was inaugurated at the Gonfienti interport, in Prato, a strategic center for local logistics. From today the new unit will be an essential point of reference for workers, in order to guarantee effective trade union representation and a constant presence in the workplace” is what the General Secretary of Fit-Cisl Tuscany, Franco Fratini.
The event was attended by, in addition to the General Secretary of Fit-CISL Toscana, Franco Fratini, the General Secretary of the CISL of Florence-Prato, Fabio Franchi, the National Secretary of FIT-CISL with delegation from the Department of Goods and Logistics, Maurizio Diamante, and the General Secretary of the National FIT CISL, Salvatore Pellecchia.
The CISL General Secretary of Florence-Prato, Fabio Franchi, explains: “With the opening of this office, delegates and union leaders will be present to provide information to the workers of the interport on labor regulations and Ccnl, according to the CISL approach which provides assistance and consultancy in the field of taxation, social and social security benefits, providing them with more direct access to trade union services and greater protection of their rights”.
“The opening of this office aims to guarantee solid and accessible support to goods and logistics workers, an essential sector for the country, affected by the renewal of the sector’s national collective bargaining agreement which must contain elements of improvement from an economic and regulatory point of view. In this sense we are working at the negotiating table, so that a rapid and positive conclusion can be reached to the satisfaction of all parties” states Fit-Cisl National Secretary Maurizio Diamante.
“This new trade union presence, in line with the assignments made on the occasion of the XII Fit-Cisl National Congress, is confirmation of the desire to strengthen our presence in the area and in all workplaces, implementing the principle of the proximity union which for us it is not just an abstract concept but translates into constant action in favor of the people we represent, starting from verifying the existence of all the conditions necessary for carrying out work activities safely. A choice of closeness which is the key to our commitment to implementing the model of participatory trade union relations which is advantageous both for workers and for companies, because when you work safely and in compliance with the contractual rules in force, there are positive effects on the quality of the service offered and on productivity. This is a beautiful day not only because a new union headquarters is opening but also because, today, in the Labor Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, a bill was presented which adopted the basic CISL text on worker participation to the capital, management and results of the company” concludes Fit-Cisl General Secretary Salvatore Pellecchia.
