Reaching 43 is Modena’s goal in view of Saturday’s match (2pm) at the “Braglia”: beating Sudtirol and matching the Bolzano team in the standings, who have 43 points, placing themselves not so far from the playoffs and now definitively safe from the playoffs.
For once, having the absolute need to win – this is the case of Modena – can definitely be an extra motivational boost compared to the tranquility and having nothing to lose of Sudtirol.
The South Tyroleans are still aiming for the playoffs – it would be the second time in a row, after last year with Bisoli – but even if they didn’t reach them, in Bolzano and the surrounding area it wouldn’t be a sporting drama.
But the excessive calm could even be a boomerang, as could also be the excessive nervousness of Modena, who once again – after the disaster with Catanzaro – will have to deal with the “Braglia” effect: but the wind, after Bianco’s departure seems to have definitely changed (and improved) even in the “Montagnani” corner.
Modena-Sudtirol could thus be decided by an episode: for example, Sudtirol is the team that, in all of Europe, has scored more penalties (10 out of 10 with the implacable Casiraghi) compared to the total number of goals scored (40, 25 % of the total).
