The Piacenza Basket Club concludes its regular season by winning its twenty-second victory at the end of an intense challenge against Oglio Po, which thus allows coach Bertozzi’s boys to reaffirm their lead in the standings in view of the playoffs for promotion to Regional Division 1. The spin between Piacenza and Oglio Po proved particularly difficult for the home team, who struggled to shake off their opponents in the scoreboard: despite attempts to gain an advantage, at half-time the score was 42-36 in favor of the red and whites, who finally manage to take off upon returning from the locker room to reach their maximum lead (50-38), but it’s a flash in the pan. In fact, the guests managed to mend the score, winning the third quarter and finishing at 58-54 in the 30th minute.
Piacenza makes its great offensive rebounding presence count and, also riding an exceptional ballistic evening from Fumi (23 points with 7/12 from three points), manages to extend the score again to close safely at the final 73-65. The Piacenza Basket Club, already certain of first place in the standings, now awaits the conclusion of the last day of the Regular Season to find out its opponent in the playoffs and discover the calendar of the next matches.
