from Brevi railwaye of 25 April 2024

FS Group press release

The “Rite of the Serpari” of Cocullo (L’Aquila) returns on Wednesday 1st May, a traditional and evocative event scheduled for the feast of San Domenico.
To facilitate the mobility of visitors, the Regional Trenitalia, leader of the Passenger Hub of the FS Italiane Group – in agreement with the Abruzzo Region, which commissioned the service – will strengthen the offer with 9 trains and several extraordinary stops in Cocullo on the Avezzano – Sulmona line .

On Wednesday 1 May there will be a total of more than 3,300 seats available to those who want to arrive and depart from Cocullo with regional trains.
Reaching Cocullo with regional trains becomes the most convenient solution, given the intensity of motorway traffic and the difficulties of finding parking in the town during the day of the event: the train station is located just 600 meters from the heart of the festival.

The convenience of choosing the Trenitalia regional train increases with the discounted fares that allow you to travel in a group of at least 10 people, with a 10% discount on the basic fare.
Children under 4 years travel for free, while up to 11 years pay half price.
