The devastating Shaboothe drug from the famous TV crime series “Breaking Bad” (in the photo), sold throughout the North and based in Nogara in the Veronese area. Very powerful crystals methamphetaminewith more terrible effects than cocaine: six years after the maxi blitz, the last two defendants were acquitted in Verona. According to the prosecution, they imported methamphetamine which had become the prerogative of organized crime: at the time, the headquarters of their trafficking, which also involved the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia, was identified in the Veronese area in Nogara.
The investigation
They were there at the trial before judge Alessia Silvi DO and MUO (defended by the lawyer Felice Rubino): the two came arrested with 5 other accomplices in April 2018 from Mobile but now, six years later, they were acquitted. A completely different fate for two other alleged accomplices in 2019, when Promise Ndubueze and Timothy Imarhiagbe were sentenced to 10 and 8 years in prison. The previous year, the seizures of narcotics carried out in the Modena area had laid the foundations for the police operation which culminated with the arrest of 7 Nigerian citizens, 4 of them in the Veronese area. Police investigators had monitored their movements and intercepted their conversations, thus bringing to light the existence of a criminal organization rooted in two regions.
The sentence
Instead now, six years after the blitzthe same ones wiretaps were not deemed sufficient to convict the last two defendants remaining on trial. In 2018, the Mobile men began investigating the pusher’s possible suppliers and arrived in Nogara, in the Bassa. It was precisely from the house of an unsuspecting Nigerian couple with children that the cars with the “load” regularly left for Modena and Reggio Emilia. «Clean» vehicles, registered to friends so as not to arouse suspicion. But by now the police lights were focused on the ride run by the Veronese couple.
