Vittorio Sanna he talked about theAtalanta to Radio Super Sound: “I was reflecting on the Atalanta phenomenon: 8 years with the same coach. We in Italy are not capable of carrying out projects of this type which resemble the English ones. In 2016 Gasperini he went to Atalanta after having been associated for a long time, the previous year, with the Cagliari bench which he preferred Rastelli. From there began a very long project that brought the Bergamo players to their current levels, thanks to some very loyal players, such as the defender Toloi who was already part of that team in 2016, Freuler, Hateboer and others who left, but were kept for a very long time. One of the things that bothers me is that when Cagliari starts playing well they become the showcase of the championship. I don’t understand this logic: our players are growing and we necessarily have to think about selling them, rather than keeping them. Why sell a player, rather than retain him? Why sell everything that may have a certain value? Maybe Cagliari should have a serious technical project and I don’t know if Ranieri can accept this task, but there is certainly a need for a coach who becomes a sort of manager and who can lead a project of this seriousness because only in this way can we move forward and think of something different.”
