The longest-lived man in Andria, (108 years in July): “I returned on foot from Germany…”

“For me Pasquale Gissi it’s theanti-fascism. It is thanks to men like him, who fought for this Homelandthat we can fully experience the meaning of Liberation Day. Mr. Pasquale is the living symbol of resistence – he remembers it on social media Mayor of Andria which, on the occasion of 25 April (Anniversary of the liberation of Italy) has released a video update which also documents the delivery – by grandfather Pasquale – of original letters written by him during the war period:

Unable to attend the initiative at the Park IV November (the Andria park which hosts the War Memorial), Mr. Pasquale still wanted to send his message to the citizens, in order not to forget the commemoration of the fallen on the occasion of the important anniversary. “Mr. Pasquale is the living symbol of resistance. 108 years old… an iron memory and a desire to tell everything he has experienced and to explain what war is” – added Mayor Bruno on social media.
