Lamezia Terme – “What is prayer?”. This is the book by Don Ricardo Reyes Castillo, whose illustrations were created by Sister Eleonora Calvo of the Order Opus Matris Verbi Dei (Servants of the Word) which will be presented on Sunday 28 April at 7.30 pm in the hall of the church of San Giuseppe Artigiano.

The book, “born from the desire to explain the beauty of prayer and its immense value today”, uses “the metaphor of the mountain walk, in which it is necessary to analyze the place, the route, the degree of difficulty, the duration, the presence or absence of refuges to rest, and many other elements that contribute to reaching the final summit”. At the meeting, which will be moderated by the director of the Social Communications Office of the Diocese, Saveria Maria Gigliotti, in addition to the author, the Bishop, Monsignor Serafino Parisi, and the parish priest, Don Fabio Stanizzo, will speak. The presentation falls within the scope of the initiatives organized on the occasion of the parish festival: “This year – says Don Fabio – we want to consider Saint Joseph as a model of Prayer, following and living the indications of Pope Francis who proclaimed the year of prayer in view of the Jubilee 2025 ‘for the Jubilee to be an event that spiritually enriches the life of the Church and of the entire people of God, becoming a concrete sign of hope, it is necessary that it be prepared and lived in one’s own communities with that spirit of expectation typical of Christian hope’”.

“The Year of Prayer – continues Don Fabio – thus fully corresponds to this need and for our community it becomes a moment of thanks to God for the gifts that he continues to bestow on a daily basis, including the conclusion of the restoration work on our Church and its reopening for worship. For the parish priest of San Giuseppe Artigiano, therefore, “the Year of Prayer fits into this context to foster the relationship with the Lord and offer moments of genuine spiritual rest. An oasis sheltered from daily stress where prayer becomes nourishment of faith, hope and charity for Christian life. We ask that the Holy Spirit, through the intercession of Saint Joseph, instill in us an intense desire to recover prayer as a personal and community relationship with God, encouraging us to be Saints for the greater Glory of God”.
