Numerous ceremonies, also in Asti and in the province, to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the Liberation – Lavocediasti.it

Even Asti and its province are preparing to celebrate with dignity the 79th anniversary of the Liberation from the Nazi-fascist dictatorship, with a series of events scheduled both in the capital and in many municipalities in the province.

In the city the day will open at 8.30, with the celebration of the Holy Mass at the Shrine of the Fallen for the Liberation, at the City Cemetery in viale Don Bianco, officiated by the bishop Monsignor Marco Prastaro. A tribute will follow at the tomb of the partisan commander Francesco Rosso “Perez”, first president of the ANPI of Asti.

At 9.30 we will move to the Bosco dei Partigiani for the laying of flowers at the Stele in memory of the Resistance. At 10am the ceremony will be repeated in the Public Gardens with the laying of flowers at the Cippo dei Partigiani.

The formation of the procession will take place at 10.15am which, from Viale alla Vittoria, will reach Piazza I Maggio where flowers will be placed at the War Memorial. The procession will then continue along Corso Alfieri and Via Gobetti to reach Piazza San Secondo.

Where, at 10.45am, Paolo Monticone’s greetings will be held (provincial president of ANPI), the deputy mayor Stefania Morra and of Laurana Lajolo, former president of the National Institute for the History of the Resistance. The initiative will end with the performance of musical pieces.

Equally relevant will be the scheduled ceremony at 12 at the Gilberto Barbero Garden (Strada Fortino, corner of Via Amico), in memory ofHon. Umberto Grilli, member of the Asti Constituent Assembly, victim of fascist violence for his socialist ideas, and of the professor Giuseppe De Andrèfather of famous Genoese singer-songwriter That he drew on his childhood memories by writing “I saw Nina fly”one of his songs more beautiful and poignant (CLICK HERE to reread the article), who fled to Asti in 1942 to escape fascist persecution for having protected some Jewish students.

The association Living Memory and the section Anpi of Canelli organize a busy program of celebratory events, with the support of Resistance and Constitution Committee and of the Piedmont Regional Council and in collaboration with Municipality of Canelli.

A special memory will be dedicated to the eightieth anniversary of the proclamation of the Partisan Republic of Alto Monferrato, through the illustration of the essay written by four students of the Fifth L class ofItis Artom of Canelli winning results of the 43rd Contemporary History Competition of the Piedmont Regional Council.

Participants in the walk are required to follow the normal rules of caution.

Friday 26 April, at 9pmthe show will take place at the Balbo Theater in Canelli Partisans Always!, a mix of sounds, memories, atmospheres, memory, echoes, narratives. A set of voices, never so out of the chorus, for a courageous and powerful show. A story that is the mother of all stories, the sister of every resistance, the daughter of every struggle, of every hope to remember that CHANGE and RESISTANCE are a PATH that can never be interrupted.

The story is written and performed by Massimo Carlotto, who is also the narrator. The music and songs are composed and played by Maurizio Camardi (saxophones, duduk). The Yo Yo Mundi (Paolo Enrico Archetti Maestri, voice and guitars, strings; Andrea Cavalieri, electric bass, clarinet and voice; Eugenio Merico, drums) will act as a counterpoint and blend into the story. With the patronage of the Municipalities of Canelli and Calamandrana.

At Rocca d’Arazzo the celebrations will begin at 3.30 pm, starting from the Society of Sant’Anna, a resistant walk on the traces of the battle of 2 December 1944 – a medium-low intensity circular circuit with a visit to the symbolic places of the partisan experience, including a trench. From 5.30 pm, again at the Sant’Anna society, commemoration of the partisan Republic of Alto Monferrato through the pages of “Napoleon on a Bicycle”, the latest novel by Franco Testorewith readings by the author and by Lidia Testa and musical accompaniment by Franco Idino. Followed by refreshments.

In San Damiano it will be a particular and revisited April 25th because the tradition of celebrating it “in a unitary way” will be resumed. 45 municipalities were invited who will participate with the banner in the presence of the vice president of the Region Fabio Carosso.

It will begin at 10 with mass in the Cosma and Damiano parish and Israt’s speech will be held. At the end, the music room will be inaugurated in Piazza Libertà in the former post office and will be dedicated to two historic music masters: Gino Rabbione and Giovanni Artusio.

In Viarigi, after participating in the aforementioned Sandamianese initiative, on Friday evening at 9pm at the town library the winning short film of the Lions Literary Prize competition inspired by the preface of the book “Una question private” by Beppe Fenoglio will be screened. The short film was created and

written by Andrea Montrucchiodirected and created by Nicolò Cataldointerpreted by Filippo Cataldo.

It will be the two students of the Scientific High School, Andrea and Nicolò, who will talk about the history and indispensable values ​​of the Resistance and in this they will be supported by

protagonists of those years, who will bring their testimonies in an evening of meeting between generations.

In Villafranca the Municipal Administration will testify, from 9am, bouquets of flowers at the Parco della Rimembranza (Cemetery) and under the “memory balcony” in Borgovecchio. Subsequently the mayor Anna Macchia will represent Villafranca at the ceremony involving the municipalities of the Northern Asti area in San Damiano.
