Olbia: April 25th between institutions, Palestinian flags and Resistance

★VIDEO★ OLBIA. The 25 April, celebration of liberation from Nazi occupation and fascism, was characterized by three demonstrations in sequence, one institutional and two less predictable, each of which took place without interfering with the other under the watchful eye of the police forces. The first saw the participation of the mayor Seventh Nizzi, civil authorities and fighting associations. The second, with flags in the cold mistral wind, in favor of the Free Palestinewhile the third, improvised from Anpiwas held under the marble tile of Piazza della Resistenza on the seafront.

ADMINISTRATION. The musical band of Olbia, Felicino Mibelli, opened the procession, which gathered in Piazza Regina Margherita. The mayor, part of the council and the majority, the president of the city council participated Marzio Altana and some representatives of the council minority. Also present was the new president of the RAS Urban Planning Commission, Roberto Li Gioi. Arranged along the lawn of the monument to the fallen of all wars, representatives of the police forces, combatant associations and the White Cross. As usual for the 25th April of the municipal administration of Olbia, completely identical to the event of 4th November, the parish priest of San Paolo Apostolo, Don Gianni Satta, celebrated mass. At the end, after the sailor’s prayer and the mayor’s speech, two wreaths of flowers were placed at the base of the monument.

PRO PALESTINE. At the tail end of the procession, a group of young people of different nationalities and of Communist Youth Front he demonstrated in favor of the liberation of Palestine and against “the genocide that Israel is carrying out against the children and people of Gaza”. The group was joined by representatives of the Anpi and several citizens, and all together they sang the popular song associated with the partisan resistance: “Hello beautiful”.

RESISTENCE. The third part of April 25th was improvised by the exponents ofNational Association of Italian PartisansGallura section, represented by Domenico Piccinnu And Franco Dore. Also present were some trade union representatives, including Danilo Deiana of the CGIL. Dore, with the megaphone, explained the reasons for the secular celebration of April 25th and announced that for June 2nd, Republic Day, a shrine containing the symbol of the partisans: the poppy will be placed next to the sign in Piazza della Resistenza. .
