A Celtic cross was drawn with black spray on the memorial stone commemorating the partisan Pietro Pandiani, on the Taranto seafront. The discovery was made this morning by members of the Taranto section of the ANPI. A bad gesture that ruined the atmosphere and ceremonies on the occasion of April 25th. One of these was scheduled right in the garden of the Lungomare where the monument dedicated to the memory of Captain Pietro Pandiani, a partisan from Taranto who won the silver medal for military valour, is located. The gash was immediately covered and will be removed.

The ceremony

This morning, as part of the initiatives for Liberation Day, the Taranto section of the ANPI organized a ceremony at the memorial stone dedicated to the Taranto partisan Pietro Pandiani. The event, on the Vittorio Emanuele III seafront, took place after the conclusion of the official ceremony in Piazza della Vittoria. During the initiative, a wreath of flowers was placed and commemorative speeches were recorded, including that of the Councilor of the Municipality of Taranto Edmondo Ruggiero representing the municipal administration and the provincial president of the Anpi Riccardo Pagano.
