The regional council has approved the financing of 71 additional scholarships for the competition for the admission of doctors to the three-year specific training course in General Medicine of the Puglia Region 2023/2026, with Pnrr funds, in order to add specialists in the field of general medicine basis that detects shortfalls for retirements. In fact, the notices for the admission of: 226 doctors to the Three-Year Specific Training Course in General Medicine 2021-2024 have already been approved; 201 doctors for the three-year period 2022/2025; 181 doctors for the three-year period 2023/2026.
It has been decided that 71 scholarships will be financed with resources assigned by the “Health” Ministerial Decree, in accordance with the provisions of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr.). For each cycle, the Puglia Region was allocated the sum of 2,681,512 euros to cover the additional PNRR grants compared to those financed with resources from the National Health Fund. The monitoring and reporting activity of the measure under examination is underway in agreement with the Ministry of Health – Mission Unit for the implementation of the PNRR interventions. The identification of the individual beneficiaries of the measure can only take place after the conclusion of the three-year training courses in General Medicine.
The decision is within the scope of the implementation of the intervention envisaged by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Mission M6, Component C2. Investment 2.2: “Development of technical-professional, digital and managerial skills of healthcare system personnel” – Sub-investment 2.2 (a). Sub-measure: “Additional grants in training in general medicine”. The scholarships for GPs are however mainly financed by the National Health Fund and, in part, by the Pnrr.
