The energy, the energy, the ability to interpret the life and feelings of many with their songs. Another sold out at Pesaro for the double concert date “Let’s not lose sight of each other / Fake News Indoor Tour” of the Nuclear Tactical Penguins who for over two hours made the audience who filled the Virtifrigo Arena sing, dance and applaud. In the stands as well as in the audience, teenagers, young people, but also entire families with children, side by side, arrived from the Marche, nearby Romagna and beyond.
It was a few minutes after 9pm when the Bergamo band went on stage and immediately warmed up the audience with one of their most beloved hits, “Scrivile Scemo”. For the Nuclear Tactical Penguins it was the first time in Pesaro. “There is an incredible atmosphere – he said Riccardo Zanotti from the stage – . This afternoon we took a walk, looking at the sea. It was wonderful“.
Between words and music, the concert is a crescendo of emotions and involvement. As often happens in the group’s performances, a boy in the audience was tattooed with a symbol of the group, while the band played Hold On. On stage the music is also that of the words spoken between one song and another, where the story becomes part of the inspiration that guided the composition. You can feel the band’s desire to entertain, but also excite the audience, to reach it with a thought about life, about the future, about dreams. One of the most intense and symbolic moments is when Riccardo asks the 10 thousand people in the stadium to take out the keys and to use them as a musical instrument: those keys that are stolen from the Palestinian people with their homes. While everyone raises their bunch of keys and jingles them Elio Biffi reads some verses of a Palestinian poet, Mahmoud Darwish which recall the value of not forgetting those who have lost the right to express themselves with the invitation to everyone to think of themselves as “a candle lit in the dark“. A message followed by the song which for the band speaks of home and family: “Bergamo“, which in one verse becomes Pesaro.
It is around a set table that the six members tell the stories that inspired their music: from Boxes to Giulia at the class dinner. With Memories then there is space for a strong message onAlzheimer’s, which is talked about too little. A degenerative disease that takes away consciousness, that locks it inside a cage, like the one recreated in an evocative way by the scenography of the stage. The band sings hidden while a couple of dancers translate emotions into dance. At the end of the song, Riccardo’s gift to the spectators in the grandstand, where he appears singing, embraced and fought over by the lucky ones for a selfie together.
With each song the emotions intersect with laughter, emotion, emotional transport, with that flavor of goodness and beauty which, while the writing Grazie appears on the backdrop on the last notes of Pastel White, the audience shares and translates into a long applause of gratitude.
The indoor tour of the Nuclear Tactical Penguins in Emilia Romagna with two evenings atUnipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno on 26 and 27 April. The band has announced that it will return to the Marche in 2025 with theHello World. It will be there June 21st at the Conero Stadium in Ancona.
