Income, Polesella tops the list of taxpayers

ROVIGO – It is Polesella the “richest” Polesine municipality in the province of Rovigo. This can be learned from the data on the Italian incomes of taxpayers declared in 2023, and referring to the 2022 tax year, published by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF). The coastal town, where 3,962 inhabitants live, is at the top of the ranking with an average income of 25,356 euros declared by its taxpayers.

With “only” 23,683 euros, Rovigo, which has over 51,600 inhabitants, must settle for second place. In third place is Occhiobello, approximately 12 thousand inhabitants, with 22,517 euros. At the bottom of the ranking, however, the figure for Porto Tolle stands out, with around 9 thousand inhabitants and an average income of 15,025 euros in 2022. A significant figure also showing how the crisis generated by the invasion of the blue crab has affected the fishing sector, the main one in the area. There is really no shortage of surprises in the photograph taken by the Mef regarding the incomes declared last year by Polesine taxpayers and relating to the year 2022.

Looking at the range of municipalities towards the Delta, the highest average income belongs to taxpayers resident in the municipality of Adria: 20,873 euros the average figure for less than 19 thousand inhabitants. As regards the municipalities that are part of the Delta Park, in Loreo the average income declared for 2022 was 17,200 euros; 18,367 euros for Porto Viro, which in this “ranking” still precedes Taglio di Po (17,285 euros), Ariano nel Polesine (17,880 euros) and Corbola (17,320 euros).
