Here is the new face of the roundabout between the provincial road 122 “Francesca” and Corso Europa. The new version of the roundabout appears more central, orderly and safe, financed thanks to the contribution of the Lombardy Region, for which, last night in the City Council, the technical-economic feasibility study was approved and its public utility declared.
New roundabout in Zingonia
The work which will cost 490 thousand euros will be carried out with a regional contribution of 300 thousand euros, already obtained from the Municipality and with 190 thousand euros of budget resources. One more piece of the redevelopment of Corso Europa which has already begun, but is well behind schedule, and which still needs to resolve the central issue regarding the auction and the future of the area of the former Towers.
“It’s been a year and a half since we have been summoned by the Lombardy Region – underlined the first citizen annoyed Caterina Vitali – We had asked to support this intervention also to make the purchase of the former Towers area more attractive by guaranteeing smooth and safe traffic. An intervention that is linked to what we have already started in front of the Atalanta centre.”
Bagini: “Region, terrible partner”
The Region has given availability for mid-May and the hope is that it will not be delayed again.
“The Lombardy Region is proving to be a terrible partner – he harshly criticized Enea Bagini, mayor at the time of the demolition of the Towers and today councilor – It is unacceptable that the supervisory committee will not be convened from December 2022. The redevelopment of Zingonia did not end with the demolition of the Towers, that was the beginning: for We have put our heart into it for years and I find this lack of interest even from neighboring administrations absurd.”
In the revised project the roundabout has become central, to balance the entrance and exit from Corso Europa and protect both the fountain – the undisputed symbol of Zingonia – and the only forest present, in Largo Aldo Moro.
