Anti-fascist procession in Trieste, ‘resistance is not terrorism’

(ANSA) – TRIESTE, APRIL 25 – An anti-fascist procession has started from the San Giacomo neighborhood in Trieste, aiming to reach the San Sabba rice mill, where the solemn ceremony on the anniversary of the Liberation is being held today. A representative of the Burjana collective kicked off the mobilization with a megaphone.

Other citizen groups and committees were also present in the square, including the Committees supporting the resistance of communism. “From Budapest to Gaza, resistance is not terrorism” is one of the banners displayed by the demonstrators. Several Palestinian flags are also waving as the procession repeatedly chants “Free Palestine.” There was a huge deployment of law enforcement to monitor the procession including police in riot gear, carabinieri and local police. At the start, a Carc stand was set up in Piazza San Giacomo, which distributed leaflets with the words: “never before has it been useful to reiterate that April 25th is not an anniversary. We need a new national liberation”. (HANDLE). .
