Card of the poetic anthology “Piazza Fontana. Poetry does not forget”

The volume is made up of 42 authors, some of the greatest of the twentieth century. There are deceased poets (Pier Paolo Pasolini, Julian Beck, Giovanni Raboni, Roberto Sanesi, to name a few), and there are prominent living poets (Oldani, Fiori, Consonni, Tonon, Sthen, Guarracino, and so on) . An articulated and complex choir of voices that reaches our hearts through the poetic word. Verses that excite us, pain us, outrage us, but at the same time make us more aware of our conscience as citizens and of everyone’s duty in defense of democracy, freedom, peace, life.

What happened in Piazza Fontana on 12 December 1969 represents one of the most dramatic moments in post-war history. That event certainly wrote the most painful and darkest pages of our country. All that blood was the prelude to an authoritarian shift, and it came close to resulting in a coup d’état. Forty-two poets wanted to combine their creative art with that of other expressive forms: narrative, non-fiction, theatre, cinema, figurative arts, music, photography, etc. so that it is not forgotten and the memory remains vigilant. Ultimately this is the task of a poet, of an artist. A research that fills a void and makes public how even the voice of the poets has not been absent in this work of testimony and memory.

Introduced by judge Guido Salvini, the volume is enriched by the testimonies of the lawyer Federico Sinicato, president of the Committee of the families of the victims of Piazza Fontana, of the provincial president of the Anpi Roberto Cenati, of one of Giuseppe Pinelli’s daughters.
