Avellino-Crotone, probable lineups: three doubts for Pazienza

Doors closed at Partenio Lombardi to prepare for the match against Crotone on Saturday evening (kick-off at 6.30pm), but the box office is constantly open to try to record a second sold out. For now the sold out sign at the exhibition, with approx 430 coupons still to be placedconcerns the Curva Sud while there are just over two thousand available in the other sectors.

As the hours pass, however, the adrenaline grows especially in the locker room where, at least in terms of purpose, the objective is threefold: make up for the defeat in Taranto; close the process of second place without unpleasant surprises and avoid, if possible, getting even one of the nine cautioned players to receive a warning which would cost Cancellotti, Frascatore, Rigione, Ricciardi, Tito, Dall’Oglio the disqualification of their post-season debut Sgarbi, Patierno or Gori.

Quite common objectives also for Lamberto Zauli’s Pythagoreans who, having returned to victory at home after four months, have at least secured their participation in the playoffs but will take to the field at Partenio with certainly not secondary motivations: winning to grab the 7th place which it would guarantee playing the first round match at Scida; rehabilitate themselves in the eyes of their fans who have heavily criticized them; avoid the same yellow danger faced by the Wolves for the goalkeeper Dini (the former has not started for a few games), the defenders Leo, Papini, Gigliotti and Battistini (the latter unavailable), the other two former Tribuzzi, D’ Angelo and Stronati (also out due to injury). How much the yellow danger will affect Saturday’s match, however, is really difficult to establish. Certainly the two coaches, although Pazienza has already underlined that he will not take this aspect into consideration, are asking themselves some questions.

At Avellino, for example, key elements of the attack such as Patierno, Gori and Sgarbi are on a booking with the latter two in the running since yesterday for a starting shirt. A choice that the San Severo coach will reflect on for a long time but not only. If the Bolzano native, who relaunched his candidacy the day before yesterday, could return from the first minute after Giugliano’s disqualification and subsequent departures from the bench, a careful evaluation will also have to be made on the relaunch of the banned Ricciardi in place of the Argentine Llano while Rocca, after alternating with D’Ausilio, could also regain the starting place between Armellino and Liotti. Practically weekly ballots that could lead to a natural alternation in a match that will see a series of exes on the Pythagorean front on the field.

If Angelo Pagotto ended his career in Crotone among the green and white ranks, Zauli’s squad includes goalkeeper Andrea Dini, defenders Maxime Giron and Davide Bove, midfielders Alessio Tribuzzi and Santo D’Angelo (the latter on loan) , the striker Gianmario Comi and Zauli’s second, Aniello Parisi.
Seven members with a green and white past even though Davide Bove, Gabriele Bernardotto and Sonny D’Angelo have arrived in Calabria, directly with Avellino, in the last two years, proving a cordial relationship with the Vrenna family. A path that in the past has also seen a star like Simone Puleo open a parenthesis with the Pythagoreans while the reverse path, with exchanges between the two clubs, was followed by goalkeeper Aniello Viscovo, who dropped from B to D with De Cesare’s green and whites, the Angrese Raffaele Di Martino, in B in 2009 with the wolves, Domenico Maietta, Carmine Leone, Stefano Trinchera and Luigi Sassanelli.

The Arianese Alfredo Cardinale, for years even captain of the Pythagoreans, arrived in Crotone two seasons after wearing the Avellino shirt directly from Atletico Catania, while Marcello Trotta, after his first experience in Irpinia, ended up in Serie A with Crotone after passing through Sassuolo.
