After the torchlight procession and the concert last night, the celebrations for the 79th Anniversary of the Liberation of Italy continue in Cuneo. The institutional ceremonies to commemorate the fallen began at 9.15 and will continue throughout the morning. It started from the Fresia Gardens with the City of Cuneo’s homage to the War Memorial, and then continued at 9.30 with the laying of wreaths at the Resistance Monument in the presence of the Authorities.

Afterwards the tributes will be paid at the “I” Barracks. Vian” at S. Rocco Castagnaretta al Cippo in memory of the Holy Tenant Ignazio Vian, at the tomb of Duccio Galimberti in the Madonna degli Angeli Sanctuary and at the Cippo di Tetto Croce in memory of the sacrifice of the national hero Duccio Galimberti. At 10.30 am the ceremony will continue at the Urban Cemetery, where a religious celebration will take place at the Partisan Mausoleum, with homage and laying of wreaths and reading of Gino Giordanengo’s poetry. Tributes and wreath-laying will follow at the tomb of Mayor Ettore Rosa, the Famedio and the Fallen Military Ossuary.

The day will end at 9pm Toselli Theatre where it will go on stage “Someone will find my name – Narration on the life of Lidia Rolfi” show by the Duilio del Prete Company with the collaboration of the G.Toselli Theater Academy – Text freely reworked by Chiara Giordanengo; Directed by Luigi Cando; Assistant director by Claudia Ferrari; Music and lights by Marco Verra.
