Gloria Zanardi, municipal councilor of Fratelli d’Italiareturns again to the state of the urban cemetery of Piacenza. The exponent of Fratelli d’Italia, already in June 2023, had presented a question “following numerous reports from citizens regarding the state of neglect and degradation affecting the urban cemetery of Piacenza: water infiltrations, dark pedestrian passages, damaged tombs” . “Following the presentation of the question – although not yet scheduled in the city council – there followed – recalls Zanardi – the declarations of councilor Bongiorni in which, having taken note of the situation, he announced an investment plan of around 4 million euros over 15 years and a program of redevelopment interventions currently being approved, as established by the municipality of Piacenza and the concessionaire body, with roofing, plaster and building works in the foreground, followed by plant engineering and greenery”.
Zanardi notes: “To date I have received further reports regarding the continuation of critical situations at the urban cemetery, especially during rainy periods; it is a question of safety and hygiene, but also of the due decorum and respect that should exist in the place dedicated to the worship of deceased loved ones; net of the age-old affair relating to previous disputes, it is necessary to monitor the correctness of the activity carried out by those responsible and, if necessary, adopt all useful measures to ensure the decorum of the place – he continues – therefore I have presented a new question in response written to ask the administration to know in detail what the timing and programming of the works affecting the urban cemetery of Piacenza are and whether, pending the completion of the more structural works, it intends to take action so that temporary and/or temporary interventions can be implemented or urgent in order to guarantee accessibility and due decorum to this place of prayer”.
